Ph.D. Student in Computer Science
School of Computer Science and Engineering, The Hebrew University of Jerusalem
I am pursuing a Ph.D. in Computer Science focusing on fast matrix multiplication algorithms. My research interests include parallel computing, fast matrix multiplication, algorithmis linear algebra, high performance computing, supercomputing, schientific computing, accelerating algorithms by reducing communication costs.
Noa Vaknin is a Ph.D. candidate in the Computer Science Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where she received her master's and bachelor's degrees (with honors). Vaknin's research focuses on accelerating matrix multiplication based on Strassen's 1969 algorithm. The unique angle of her research combines both theoretical and implementational aspects, including communication and computation reductions. Under the guidance of Prof. Oded Schwartz, she has improved the performance of matrix multiplication significantly, as compared to state-of-the-art implementations.
Her work has been published in journals and comferences in the field, and she has presented at several international conferences. Vaknin's research is funded by the Clore Foundation and by the Council for Higher Education (Vatat), and has been granted multiple awards.
